We can currently take on 6 new starters, twice a year and the starting age for Beavers is 6 years old. The waiting list is sorted firstly by age and then by the date when you joined the waiting list.

And that continues up through Cubs and Scouts. Once an age intake group is full then a place will only become available if someone from that intake leaves.
Everyone involved in Scouts groups are volunteers and we have to adhere to strict child to adult ratios therefore our Beavers group has a maximum of 24 children. This is also important to continue the ratios through to Cubs and Scouts of children starting and leaving. We guarantee all of our Beavers a space in Cubs and all Cubs a space in Scouts therefore all of our groups waiting lists/intakes work together. Our waiting lists are meticulously maintained using an online system and automatically move to the next section’s waiting list when the age is appropriate.
